There were a lot of people talking about buying the stock yesterday in the front page comments... I can’t stress enough how much of a terrible idea this is.

Don’t try to catch a falling knife while information is still being disseminated on a financial scandal. Wait.

Another day or two like this and we’re at ten year lows. Deciding if it’s worthwhile to jump in then or wait until the news cycle really hits on the criminal charges.

I’m pretty sure this means Toyota is now the largest automaker in the world.

Eventually the bleeding will stop, and that’s when you buy. But we don’t even have all the details yet, this is still a very much an emerging story.

I was in yesterday and wish I had waited, but still not too concerned.

The overall markets are still trending down today while VLKAY (the US pink-sheet that Americans can more readily buy) is actually UP intraday. Bucking the trend usually means there’s something else at work.

I’m calling the bottom this morning. Will probably eat my words tomorrow...it’s all going to depend on what kind of news trickles out, like Mate’s article on the front page, Winterkorn’s non-resignation, finding and isolating a scapegoat, and so on.

Exactly. Look at BP stock after the Gulf disaster...

Better to miss out on a few bucks of a lower share than get taken for a ride.

I bought some yesterday, today’s drop has me freeing up some more play money to buy more today!

There is SO much uncertainty about how this will affect VW’s future... Warren Buffet always says to buy fear, this isn’t fear it’s just bad for the future of VW.

That’s not what Jalopnik told its readers yesterday.

Is it only your gut feelings ?

I see the unveiling of the refreshed Passat didn't have an effect on stock prices

Honestly though, it could be worse. You could be AMD at this point.

I have little to no expectations for their new HBM hardware - and I know they’re probably going to flop. Badly.

I can’t see this being a problem for VW’s future. The current models aren’t even affected. It doesn’t affect the products they’re selling at all, and for that reason I think the stock will bounce right back once the public forgets.

Which means buying stock would be a great idea.
